Franklin Resident among Eight Selected for Distinguished Young Woman of Massachusetts Competition for 2024

High school senior girls from across Massachusetts will join in Holyoke for the Distinguished Young Women of Massachusetts program to be held Sunday January 14th at 2:30 p.m. at Leslie Phillips Theater, Holyoke Community College. Participants will compete for a share of thousands in college scholarships and the opportunity to represent the state as the Distinguished Young Woman of Massachusetts for 2024. In addition, the Distinguished Young Woman of Connecticut will be named. 

Tickets are available in advance, link available on the Distinguished Young Women of Massachusetts facebook page or at the door. 

The eight young women competing will be evaluated by a panel of five judges in the following categories: Scholastics (25%), Interview (25%), Talent (20%), Fitness (15%), and Self-Expression (15%). The participant selected as the Distinguished Young Woman of Massachusetts will advance to the national level at the 66th Distinguished Young Women National Finals in Mobile, Ala., on June 27, 28 and 29, 2023, where she will join with 50 other representatives from across the country in competing for cash scholarships and the opportunity to represent the program as the Distinguished Young Woman of America.

Distinguished Young Women of Massachusetts welcomes the following participants to Holyoke: Liana Warnakulasooriya of Franklin, Taylor Pereira of Framingham, Claire Donahue of Southampton, Aryana Innocent of Attleboro, Moira Larson of Easthampton, Trinjan Kaur of Wrentham, Victoria Santos of Easthampton, Alyssa Babineau of Malden and Christina Vega of Suffield, CT.
