Annual Rotary Pasta Supper a Big Hit

Members of The Rotary Club of Franklin MA work together to feed and serve seniors in their annual pasta dinner, held at Central Park Terrace. The pasta supper is supported by many local businesses.

The Rotary Club of Franklin, MA held their 31st Annual Pasta Supper on June 22, 2023, at 1000 Central Park Terrace, Franklin MA. Each year it has been held, all senior residents of Franklin have been welcomed to this free event.

“My Dad, John Padula started this Rotary Service Project back in 1991. I have so many fond memories of he and my uncle Charlie, playing music and singing to entertain their guests. People were dancing in their seats and in the aisles.” said incoming Rotary President, Diane Padula.

Dan Gentile, a Rotarian for over 30 years, served as Head Chef, leading Rotarians in preparing the homemade meal, which consisted of giant vats of tomato sauce and 500 hand-rolled meatballs.

Both Franklin Town Administrator Jamie Hellen and Franklin resident and MA Representative Jeffrey Roy helped out at the event, meeting with the seniors and helping to serve the meal.

“The Rotarians look forward to providing this home cooked meal each year and we work together to make this a special and memorable event for our Franklin’s Senior Citizens and Residents of the Franklin Housing Authority,” said Gentile.

The Rotary Club International is a non-profit organization made up of a diverse group of men and women “who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world.” https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary
