On Sunday, June 14, Dads from all over town flocked to Beaver Pond for the first Eddie Grant Memorial Kickball Tournament, an initiative of the civic and social group, Franklin Fathers. The event honors Franklin native Eddie Grant, a Major League Baseball player and World War I soldier killed in action in 1918, for whom Franklin American Legion Post 75 is named.
