DA Candidate Djuna Perkins Reasserts Prior Call for DA Michael Morrissey to Resign as Norfolk County DA
Dedham, Mass. - Norfolk District Attorney candidate Djuna Perkins called for DA Michael Morrissey to resign last year, and last month she reiterated the call after text messages involving members of Morrissey's investigative unit were revealed.
"One year ago, I called on DA Michael Morrissey to resign following a pattern of failures to prosecute egregious crimes, the lack of oversight of the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office State Police investigative unit, and misguided prosecutorial priorities."
"The newly released text messages from members of Morrissey's investigative unit further highlights why I called for his resignation last year and have continued to assert the need for a complete overhaul of the DA's office. Residents of Norfolk County should not be subjected to this level of misconduct, mismanagement, and abhorrent behavior from the county's top law enforcement officials."
