Don't trash clothes or household goods that neighbors can use!

BELLINGHAM, Mass.- Yankee Quilters, Inc., a nonprofit guild of quilters which meets in Franklin, is holding a Savers Fundraiser as a benefit for our programs and outreach to those facing challenges. We are collecting 'softlines' (men's, women's, and children's clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, belts, backpacks, etc. bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linens, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.) Books and Media (paperback, hard cover of all genres except encyclopedias or text books). Any media items need to be boxed separately.

We will be holding three drop-off dates for donations: Saturday, July 18th; Saturday, August 22nd and Saturday, September 12th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon each day. October 3rd is our final Savers drop-off date, so we will be loading a truck and leaving promptly at noon on that date. The drop-off location is Prime Storage, 302 Hartford Ave., Bellingham, MA 02019. If people need assistance with donations, please email [email protected] or call 598-657-4770 and we will do our best to either pickup donations or schedule other drop-off times.

Yankee members make quilts for Dana Farber, First Concern PRC and other nonprofits. We use our tiniest scraps to make pet beds and keep fiber out of landfills. Our quilts are made with donated materials, however sometimes funds are needed for batting, used for warmth in the quilts or specific fabrics. This fundraiser also helps cover the cost of lectures to improve our skills.
