1. FY27 Budget Process

The Finance Committee will make recommendations on the proposed FY27 Budget at its meeting on June 3, 2026. Following the Finance Committee’s review, the Town Council will take a final vote on the Town Administrator’s proposed FY27 Operating Budget at its meeting on June 10, 2026 at 7 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in both upcoming public hearings to share feedback and provide input on the proposed budget.

2. New Franklin Spotlight Series Showcases Local Small Businesses

The Town of Franklin celebrated National Small Business Week 2026 with the launch of the Franklin Small Business Spotlight Series, a new initiative designed to highlight and support the local businesses that help drive the community’s economy.

The ongoing series will feature Franklin businesses across Town communication platforms, including the Franklin First newsletter, the Town website, and official social media channels, sharing their stories and showcasing the importance of supporting local businesses. Franklin small businesses interested in being featured are encouraged to participate.

3. Franklin Designated as 2026 Housing Choice Community 

The Town of Franklin has been designated as a 2026 Housing Choice Community by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in recognition of the Town’s ongoing efforts to support housing growth and expand housing opportunities. Franklin was one of 29 communities recognized by the Healey-Driscoll Administration for taking concrete steps to encourage responsible housing development and sustainable growth.

The designation makes Franklin eligible for the state’s Housing Choice Grant Program and provides additional consideration for several state funding opportunities that support infrastructure, transportation, and community development projects.

4. Kick Off Summer with the Flavors of Franklin! 

Franklin Restaurant Week is coming soon! From May 31 through June 6, 2026, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the many flavors of Franklin’s local dining scene during the Town’s inaugural Restaurant Week.

Participating restaurants will feature special menus, promotions, discounts, or limited-time offerings throughout the week, encouraging the community to discover new favorites while supporting local businesses.

The Town of Franklin is still seeking restaurants interested in participating in this exciting community-wide event. Local restaurants are encouraged to join and showcase what makes Franklin’s dining scene unique.
