Franklin’s Young Riders Return to Crush Cancer June 7

FRANKLIN, MA -On Sunday, June 7, 2026, the Franklin PMC Kids Ride celebrates its 20th anniversary as one of 20 youth cycling events across New England. These rides are part of the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Kids Rides program, which inspires children to get involved in philanthropy by riding their bikes and raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The program has raised over $12 million to support the fight against cancer.

In 2025, the PMC Kids Rides welcomed more than 1,700 young cyclists and 500+ volunteers, who raised $400,000 as part of the PMC’s record-breaking $78 million gift to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The PMC is Dana-Farber’s largest single contributor, representing 67% of the Jimmy Fund’s annual revenue and has raised over $1.1 billion for cancer treatment and research since 1980.

The Franklin event offers young cyclists ages 3 to 14 a meaningful and fun way to make a real difference. Riders can choose from 3, 6, or 10-mile routes. Younger riders not yet on two wheels can take part in the Tikes and Trikes course, a contained area filled with fun stations and activities designed just for them. Kids can join a team, create their own, or ride solo. The day is packed with interactive stations, fun activities, and a festive post-ride celebration.

Top fundraisers will be honored with a commemorative item and certificate. Kids who raise $100 or more earn the title of Power Pedaler; those who raise $500 or more become a PMC Kids Heavy Hitter; and riders who surpass $1,000 are celebrated as PMC Kids Breakaway Fundraisers.

The Franklin ride was founded by local resident Lisa Marchioni in honor of a dear friend who passed away from lung cancer, leaving behind three young children.

The event takes place at Washington Street Elementary School, 628 Washington St., from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026. There is a $20 registration fee and a minimum fundraising goal of $40 per rider. Families from any town are welcome!

The PMC Kids Rides program is made possible by Yawkey Foundations, with support from Yasso, 105.7 WROR, and Landry’s Bicycles. The PMC is co-presented by the Red Sox® Foundation and M&T Bank.
