Weymouth Food Pantry Wins 2nd Annual “SOUPer Bowl”

Members of the Franklin Girls’ Basketball team joined in to collect soup for the 2026 SOUPer Bowl competition between Franklin and Weymouth food pantries.

Weymouth & Franklin, MA  – The Weymouth Food Pantry and the Franklin Food Pantry are proud to announce the results of their Second Annual SOUPer Bowl, a friendly competition to tackle hunger in their communities. In a massive show of community spirit, Weymouth Food Pantry claimed the top spot this year, collecting an incredible 9,600 cans of soup. The Franklin Food Pantry also scored big with supporters donating 6,286 cans.

State Rep. Jeff Roy (Franklin) and State Rep. James Murphy (Weymouth) officially announced the winner at the Massachusetts State House, highlighting that in Massachusetts, 1 in 3 people are experiencing food insecurity. 

Coming up, the 11th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner and Fundraiser will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 6 pm at Franklin Public High School. Tickets go on sale April 2nd.
