For each monthly prompt that you complete and submit on time you will receive a free book coupon good at the library’s book sale. Franklin Public Library VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

We Need You! for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs… better known as VITA and TCE.

Many volunteer roles are available, including greeter, an interpreter, and most of all, we need tax preparers. Training for certification is provided!

ESL & Adult Literacy Program

The Franklin Public Library has started an English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy Program to serve Franklin and surrounding communities. Volunteers and students do not need to be Franklin residents. If interested, fill out the registration form on the library’s website.

Miss Lily’s step-by-step painting of stacked pumpkins is great for children ages 6-12! Materials provided.

Teen Advisory Board Wednesday October 8th 5:30 p.m.

Teens! Join us each month to help plan events and programs, create displays, decorate the teen space, and help drive decisions on what materials we bring to the YA collection, all while eating snacks and getting volunteer hours!

Health Fair Wednesday October 1st 3:30 p.m.

Join the Town Health Department for a Health Fair at the library with local vendors & health services, face painting & kids’ activities, health screenings, raffles, giveaways, and refreshments!

Drum Circle Thursday October 2nd 2 p.m.

A hand-drumming workshop for all ages! This live event will explore different drumming styles from across the globe, celebrating the universality of this much-loved instrument.

Mysterious Massachusetts Saturday October 4th 2 p.m.

Every state has its ghost stories, but no other state has the Dover Demon or the Salem Witch Trials. From sea-side ghosts to UFOs over the Berkshires, Massachusetts has a rich history of paranormal legend, odd events, and strange denizens. Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe will resurrect some of the most famous of Massachusetts paranormal history.

Chess Club Saturday October 4th 2:30 p.m.

All ages and ability levels are welcomed, including beginners. Sets will be available.

Trunk or Treat Saturday October 18th 2 p.m.

Dress up and join us in the library parking lot for a safe, little-kid friendly morning of trick-or-treating in the daylight! In case of rain, we will move indoors!!

Fabio Pirozzolo in Concert Saturday October 25th 3 p.m.

Celebrate the art and culture of Italy with a concert of Italian Folk Music from Fabio Pirozzolo, an Italian drummer, multi-percussionist and singer currently based in Boston. Originally from Terracina, Italy, he started his career as a folk percussionist, playing Italian frame drums tamburello and tammorra, in one of the most famous folk groups in his area. He has traveled throughout Europe, playing concerts and giving lectures on regional Italian frame drum techniques
