On September 7th, St. John’s Episcopal Church at 237 Pleasant Street, Franklin will welcome fall with Kick-Off Sunday, the beginning of our Program Year, when we welcome back our choir (and perhaps some parishioners) from summer vacation, offer a special blessing for teachers and students, and enjoy ICE CREAM sundaes after worship.
Later in the month, the 6th Annual Pumpkin Patch at the church will open Sept. 28 through Oct. 31.
A huge selection of pumpkins, gourds and colorful mum plants will fill the front lawn. Kids can pick out their favorites, and it’s a cute photo opportunity.
Open 7 days a week, here’s the schedule:
Monday-Friday 4-6 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sundays Noon-4 p.m.
Monday October 14, open 10 – 4 p.m.
The pumpkins are grown using sustainable agricultural practices in a region of New Mexico with 42% unemployment, providing jobs for Navajo people. Proceeds from pumpkin & plant sales benefit the Navajo Nation in New Mexico as well as St. John’s Church and its service in the Franklin community.
