Franklin Public Library VITA: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

We Need You! for the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly programs… better known as VITA and TCE.

Many volunteer roles are available. You can help as a greeter, an interpreter, and many other roles, but most of all, we need tax preparers. Training for certification is provided!

ESL & Adult Literacy Program

The Franklin Public Library has started an English as a Second Language and Adult Literacy Program to serve Franklin and surrounding communities. Volunteers and students need not be Franklin residents. If interested, fill out the registration form on the library’s website.

Children ages 6-11, join Ms. Cindy for a step-by-step art project! All materials provided! 

Stuffie Spa Thursday, September 11th @ 2:30 p.m., library meeting room

Treat your fluffy friend to a ‘bath’, brush, fluff, and more!

RI Pirate Guy Party Saturday September 20th @ 1 p.m.

Join the R.I. Pirate Guy for a rollicking adventure! We’ll dress like pirates, create our own pirate flags, play a few pirate games, and uncover buried treasure!

Special Events for Teens

D&D Club Returns Monday September 8th @4 p.m.

Registration Required

Kids ages 10-17 are invited for a weekly Dungeons and Dragons Club! D&D is one of the most complex tabletop games in history. The library will supply dice, rulebooks, and blank character sheets! We will be using the 5th edition. Other Table Top systems welcome!

Pixel Pals Thursday, September 25th @ 4 p.m.

An afternoon book group for graphic novels, manga, anime, cartoons, etc.! 

Special Events for Adults

Painting for Adults Saturday September 6th @ 1 p.m.

Registration Required

Grown-ups! Join Miss Lily and create a step-by-step painting of inspired by American artist Georgia O’Keefe! All materials provided.

Craftalong for Adults September 13th @ 2 p.m.

Registration Required

Adults of all ages and abilities are welcome to join us. One Saturday each month, we’ll complete a new DIY creative craft. All supplies provided. This month’s project is Marbled Clay Leaves!

Community Song Circle, Wednesdays, September 10 & 24 @ 6:45 p.m. 

Come together as a community with local musician Jamie Barrett to sing some favorite songs, with lyrics provided. This program is geared toward adults and older teens. No knowledge of music or singing experience required. Language Learners who want to practice English through singing are especially invited to participate!

Tiny Art Show Reception! Friday September 12th 3:30-4:45 p.m.

A special reception celebrating this summer’s tiny masterpieces and their artists! We hope to see as many of the show’s artists and loved ones as possible! Refreshments will be served!

MetroWest Symphony Orchestra Concert, September 13th @10:30 a.m.

Join us in welcoming the Metro-West Symphony Orchestra as a group of their amazing cohort perform for us a few pieces by composers from around the world and give us an inside look at the history and instruments involved.

Clue in the Library: A Mystery Scavenger Hunt! Tuesday September 23rd, all day!

It’s a day off from school, and we have a mystery to solve! Can you help us investigate? (This is a passive program; you can come anytime and go at your own pace!)

Harvest Festival Library Lawn Games Saturday September 27th starting at 12 p.m.
