Franklin’s annual Veteran’s Day luncheon returned to the Franklin Elks Lodge #2136 this year, with Robert Gardner, U.S. Army-RET, Purple Heart, and Bronze Star recipient, serving as keynote speaker. The event, which was packed, opened with the posting of the colors by Commander John Milot and James McNeil from American Legion Post 75, the National Anthem by the Franklin High School Chorus, Pledge of Allegiance by U.S. Air Force veteran Marilyn Shaw, an invocation by Robert Markunis, Chaplain of American Legion Post 75, and a welcome by Shannon Nisbett, Franklin Veterans Services Officer.
