The Watermedia Workshop- with emphasis on watercolor – will be held in downtown Franklin at the Rockland Bank Annex.

• 10:30am – 3:15pm: Artists paint- with break for lunch
• 3:15-4pm: Critique
Bill’s suggestions for people taking his workshop:
“Students should bring their own images from which to paint. It is very important that their subject matter speaks to them, i.e. they’re excited and interested in their subject(s). For me, I love landscapes, seascapes and city scenes so I gravitate towards those kinds of images. Botanicals? Go for it! portraits, same. My workshop will focus more on watercolor technique than on subject matter.”
He has a list of suggested materials (below), but adds: “Students DO NOT need to go out and buy any of my suggestions but I do insist on GOOD paper.”
Materials:
• Paper
• Good paper! I use Arches 300# Cold Press and Rough. 140# is fine as long as it’s a good sheet of watercolor paper - no junk! You will never learn watercolor on inferior paper.

“Everyday scenes from life intrigue me the most; be it a barren skyline, boats in the harbor or city life on a busy day.  I observe how the light plays into the scene and reflects off the subjects.  I work to capture that light and make it my point-of-interest in the painting.”
