Franklin Stormwater Division Kids' Art Contest through April 30

Calling All Franklin students!  The Town of Franklin Stormwater Division needs your help!  In an effort to expand our community stormwater awareness campaigns, the Town of Franklin is holding a number of art contests! See details below for age brackets, project parameters, entry form and prizes! 

Stormwater Awareness Poster - Ages 5 - 7 

Title: “Rainy Days = Stormwater”

  • Create a poster showing a rainy day! 
  • Use 8 x 10 paper (Both horizontal and vertical designs are accepted)
  • Use lots of color! (Markers, paint, crayons, etc… please no glitter or other raised elements)
  • Include the title “Rainy Days = Stormwater” in your design
  • Write the artist’s name, age, and a contact email address (parent/guardian) on the back of the entry artwork in pencil.

A winning design will be used to create stormwater awareness posters, which will be displayed in our Town of Franklin Buildings and used in town newsletters, websites and other online awareness campaigns. 

The winning entry will also receive a $100 Amazon Gift Card (Sponsored by Water Words that Work)

Title: “Keep our Stormwater Clean”

  • Create a poster showing how to keep out stormwater clean.
  • Use 8 x 10 paper (Both horizontal and vertical designs are accepted)
  • Use lots of color! (Markers, paint, crayons, etc… please no glitter or other raised elements)
  • Include the title “Keep our Stormwater Clean” in your design
  • Write the artist’s name, age, and a contact email address (parent/guardian) on the back of the entry artwork in pencil.

Title: “How to Prevent Stormwater Pollution”

  • Create a poster showing how to prevent stormwater pollution .
  • Use 8 x 10 paper (Both horizontal and vertical designs are accepted)
  • Use lots of color! (Markers, paint, crayons, etc… please no glitter or other raised elements)
  • Include the title “Prevent Stormwater Pollution” in your design
  • Write the artist’s name, age, and a contact email address (parent/guardian) on the back of the entry artwork in pencil.

Prevent Pollution Stencil design

  • Create a one color stencil design including the phrase “Prevent Pollution” in the design (other appropriate text can be added as well)  
  • Use 8 x 10 paper - horizontal orientation only. 
  • Design entry should consider legibility, and message
  • Write the artist’s name, age, and a contact email address (parent/guardian) on the back of the entry artwork in pencil.

A winning design will be turned into a larger scale stencil to be painted at Town of Franklin catch basin locations to help spread awareness about pollution.  

The winning entry will also receive a $100 Amazon Gift Card (Sponsored by Water Words that Work) 

  • Contest is open to Franklin residents only.
  • Parents/Guardians must fill out this entry form to each artwork entry. 
  • Entries are due by 1pm on Friday, April 30th. 
  • All image entries should be dropped off at the Franklin Municipal Building during open lobby hours or at the drive thru window. 
  • Winners will be announced on Monday, May 10th and will be contacted via the provided email address.
