On February 17, 2021, the Franklin MA Lions President Kristine Shanahan received eyeglasses collected by Nidhi Ramesh, an 8th grade student from Benjamin Franklin Classical Charter Public school. Nidhi selected eyesight as a capstone community service project. She collected eyeglasses for the Franklin Lions. She has learned first-hand how deeply committed the Lions organization (internationally and Statewide) is to alleviating blindness.  

At the 1925 International Lions Convention in Ohio, Helen Keller charged the Lions to become the “Knights of the Blind in the crusade against darkness.” Franklin MA Lions Club supports the MA Lions Eye Research Foundation for its continuing fight against the darkness.
