St. Vincent de Paul of St. Joseph's to Hold Friends of the Poor Walk Sept. 26

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Joseph Medway Conference is once again participating in the Annual “Friends of the Poor Walk”.  The nationally sponsored event will take place on September 26, 2020 in commemoration of the Feast Day celebrating the organization’s founder, St. Vincent de Paul.  Proceeds from the event go directly back to the local conference enabling them to provide assistance for people in need in their communities of Medway and Millis, regardless of religious affiliation.   Funds raised help to provide food, rent assistance, help with utilities & medications to those in need.

Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, walkers this year will be registering online and walking on their own, in order to keep safe social distancing practices in place.  Volunteers & walkers  can register online @ www.fopwalk.org St. Joseph Medway.  Supporters can donate in three different ways:  using the fopwalk.org website, making checks payable to St. Joseph Parish St. Vincent de Paul, P.O. Box 4 Medway, MA 02053 or online giving to St. Joseph Parish by clicking on St. Vincent de Paul.

This important fundraiser is one of only two that is held throughout the year to support our conference’s mission.  With the rise in unemployment and financial burdens caused by the pandemic, the conference is anticipating an increase in need in the coming months.  Your generosity and support are welcome and appreciated.
